WHAT IS FELTA?

Felta School House is the historic one-room schoolhouse that sits just East of the current West Side School campus. Built in 1877, it originally served as Felta School, educating local children in the Westside area of Healdsburg long before the formation of the West Side Union School District. Over time, as the community grew and modern school facilities were developed, the original schoolhouse was preserved as a cherished landmark. Today, Felta School House stands as a symbol of West Side Elementary’s deep roots in community, tradition, and public education — connecting today’s students to nearly 150 years of local history.
